We celebrated Children’s day in various programs of Sharana. The “evening homework help centre” children did a beautiful cultural program following which we distributed notebooks, pens and shared a cake. Sharana is always seeking out innovative ways to extend its support for women’s education. Twice a year, for three months, we accept interns pursuing their Bachelors in Social work, from Kasthurba College for Women, Villianur. The young women work with us on various programs during their internship.

This August we had Ketan, an energetic and creative high-schooler from the United States, working with us as a volunteer. Ketan came to us through his uncle Rajen, who has himself much experience in the social and development sector

We were very pleased to have Eva Darlan visit us at Sharana a couple of weeks ago.  For those who do not know Eva, she is a well known (TV and Cinema) French actress. She had come to Pondy to perform in a French auto-biographical monologue at the Alliance Francaise in Pondicherry.

Guillaume, a trained art therapist who worked through the medium of dance joined us for an intense two weeks in the end of July.
