Rural Development programs

Sharana’s approach to community development, described at greater length in our Mission, is holistic and integrative. To help children obtain their rights to education implies supporting families who then do not need their children to work to supplement family income.
This support entails addressing childcare, medical, nutritional, emotional, economic, and other needs, as well as creating spaces where communities can gather to attend to the issues that concern them. Sharana’s programs oriented toward community development are further described in the links below.

Volunteer

Sharana receives several volunteers every year, particularly from Europe and the United States. Volunteers bring new energy and skill-sets to the organization, along with stories and experiences from other parts of the world.

 
Village Crèche
A vital tool for empowering and encouraging women to work while their children are cared for in a clean safe environment and nutritious food, educational activities, health check ups and sanitation.
Medical Outreach and Referral Centre
This programs aims to provide medical support and referral services to our direct beneficiaries (the children) and indirect beneficiaries (their families and communities) throughout all the programs.
