On the 24th of February, our Data consolidation project (MamaData) turned live. MamaData is a cloud based software, which supports Sharana’s social workers and accountants in managing information about beneficiaries and donors. The database can be accessed from internet enabled tablets on the field and eventually gives up to the minute information about all programs and activities of our organisation.

We were able to develop this tool with the help of our long term friend and supporter, Peter, who built it in collaboration with students from HAW Hamburg.

After simultaneously working on this Database with Social workers in Sharana and the students in Germany for 6 months in India and Germany, Peter finally came to India with 3 students: Dariusch, Yannick and Danu for ten days for the final modifications and launch of the project MamaData.

During these ten days, our social workers went through extensive trainings and interactive sessions with the 3 students, which were followed by late nights of programming by the students to integrate the necessary changes suggested by the social workers.

We are very proud of this project, and believe that with this initiative we will stay ahead of the coming changes in the field.

Less files, less paper, thus enabling us to focus our efforts into improving our work on the social and development issues, we’re working on.

Thank you! Peter, Dariusch, Yannick and Danu and all the best to the whole Sharana team.
