At Sharana, we believe that education is about much more than ensuring children attend school and perform well in examinations. While access to education remains central to our work, we recognise that children need support beyond academics to truly thrive. Confidence, resilience, emotional well-being, and life skills all play an important role in a child’s development. That is why, alongside our educational programmes, we regularly organise workshops and awareness sessions that strengthen and support children holistically.
With examinations approaching, we organised an Exam Mastery Workshop for 88 children across our centres. The session was facilitated by Dr. Poorani, a Happiness and Success Coach, who shared practical strategies to help students approach their exams with confidence, focus, and a positive mindset.

The workshop encouraged children to reflect on the power of self-belief, goal setting, and consistent effort. Through interactive discussions and activities, students explored how negative thoughts can impact performance and learned techniques to build confidence and maintain motivation during stressful periods.
Alongside mindset-building exercises, the session covered practical exam preparation skills such as time management, planning revision schedules, analysing question papers, and using previous years’ papers effectively. Students were also introduced to memory-enhancing techniques including mind mapping, visual learning, association methods, and storytelling strategies.
Recognising that academic success is closely linked to overall well-being, Dr. Poorani highlighted the importance of healthy routines, adequate sleep, balanced nutrition, and creating a productive study environment. Simple mindfulness and concentration exercises were also shared to help students stay calm and focused.
The workshop was met with great enthusiasm, with children actively participating, sharing their concerns, and reflecting on the habits they would like to develop. More than an exam-preparation session, it was an opportunity for students to build confidence in their abilities and develop skills that will benefit them far beyond their school years.
At Sharana, we are committed to supporting the whole child. By organising sessions like these, we aim to ensure that children are not only academically prepared but also equipped with the confidence, mindset, and life skills they need to realise their full potential and build brighter futures.
