As the world moves towards a more digital future, digital skills are becoming increasingly important for education, employment, and everyday life. Sharana sees the need to ensure that children, young people, and women in the communities we serve are not left behind in this transition.
To respond to this growing need, Sharana established its Digital Lab and Language Lab in 2022, beginning with a pilot programme to understand community needs, identify learning gaps, and explore how access to technology and language skills could support greater opportunities for education and employment.
The programme focuses on building practical digital and language skills, improving employability, and increasing confidence in using technology. Through structured training and hands-on learning, participants gain skills that can support their education, future careers, and participation in an increasingly digital society.
Alongside regular courses, Sharana also conducts short, skill-based workshops on topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and visual communication. These sessions are designed according to participants’ existing skills, learning levels and needs, and are offered to both young people and women.
At the end of the courses, participants receive Skill India-recognised certificates, providing formal recognition of the skills they have acquired.
Since its launch, the programme has reached 2000+ young people and 80 women, providing them with opportunities to develop skills that are increasingly essential for the world of work and everyday life.
